- TAGCO MET Retiree Medical and Rx plans are group employer plans for Medicare beneficiaries 65 and older, who are enrolled in Medicare Part A and B, and can be sponsored and endorsed by an employer with or without contribution;
- TAGCO MET Group Retiree Medical plans are fully insured by The Hartford and guaranteed issue to the Retiree, his or her Spouse or surviving spouse;
- TAGCO MET Group Retiree Medical plans provide for an alternative to individual Standardized Medicare Supplement alphabet plans and can be issued with employer group Medicare Part D Rx coverage that provides full coverage thru the DoNut hole;
- TAGCO MET Retiree Medical plans are underwritten by Hartford Life & Accident Insurance Company—rated “A-” by AM Best and Standard and Poor’s, as of March 25, 2010; TAGCO MET employer group Medicare Part D Rx plans are offered via Express Scripts and CVS Caremark "SilverScripts" programs;
- The Hartford issues such fully insured group Retiree Medical Master Policy(s) to the TAGCO Multiple Employer Trust; such Group Retiree Medical plan is guaranteed issue to the Retiree, his or her Spouse or Surviving Spouse;
- TAGCO MET Employer Group Retiree Medical plans may be issued with or without employer contribution for eligible Retirees and their Spouses and provide national rates;
- TAGCO MET group Retiree Medical plans do NOT include medical questions or history and are guaranteed issue and group rated;
- Composite rates are provided for employer groups with 50% or more employer contribution; age and gender banded rates are available for employer sponsored voluntary plans, e.g. 65-69, 70-74, 75-80 and 80+;
- TAGCO MET Group Retiree Medical plans are not zip code rated and do not include smoker surcharges;
- TAGCO MET Employer Group Retiree Medical and Rx plans can be issued to employer groups with as few a two (2) lives and up to 250 or more;
- TAGCO MET plans can be customized for employer groups with 250 or more Retirees;
- Eligible Retirees must be 65 years of age or older, retired and on Medicare Parts A and B;
- Independent Agents and Brokers’ prospecting and marketplace may include the following:
- Current Individual Client(s)’ former Employer(s);
- Private Sector Employers, e.g. local Employers;
- Public Sector Employers, e.g. local City, County, Hospital and ISD Employers;
- Telephone and Electric Coop Employers;
- YMCA, United Way and other Not-for-Profit Employers;
- Financial Institution(s), e.g. Bank, Credit Union Employers;
- Chamber of Commerce Member Employers;
- Credit Union Member Company(s) Employers;
- Multiple individual sales opportunity(s) associated w/TAGCO MET sales;
- Other(s)
- Independent Agents and Brokers wishing to provide TAGCO MET Employer Group Retiree Medical and Rx plan information should take the following steps:
- Prospective employer groups should registered with appointed Managing General Agent (MGA);
- Prospective employer group registration should include Employer Name, City and State;
- TAGCO MET Employer Group Retiree Medical and Rx Proposals should be requested thru TAGCO MET appointed and licensed MGA;
- Approved TAGCO MET proposal will be issued via TAGCO MET licensed and appointed MGA and cleared via TAGCO MET Third Party Administrator (TPA);
- TAGCO MET MGA approved proposal will be sent to appointed and licensed Agent or Broker;
- TAGCO MET Employer Group Retiree Medical and Rx case submission requirements should include the following:
- A TAGCO MET Eligible Employer Group Case Submission document;
- An executed/signed TAGCO MET Employer Participation Agreement;
- Employer Group Excel census data per TAGCO MET Case Submission document;
- TAGCO MET Voluntary Plan Retiree/Spouse Application(s);
- Individual Billing address, contact Info, etc for Non-Employer Paid Plan(s) per TAGCO MET Case Submission document;
- TAGCO MET TPA will bill Employer Group and/or Retiree for first month’s premium;
- TAGCO MET Employer Group Retiree Medical and Rx plan(s) are administered by The Hartford’s approved Third Party Administrator(s)
- TAGCO MET administration includes the following:
- Case Set-Up
- Welcome Letter
- Certificate Issue
- Medical Card
- Employer Billing
- Individual Billing
- Commission Reporting
- Customer Service
- Claims Payment
- Producer commission is paid on first and renewal years
- Producer commission is paid at a level rate for first and subsequent years
- Producer commissions are paid as long as such plan(s) remains in force
- Producer commission shall include Medicare trend and utilization increase(s)
